Jakarta, 30/10/10 2018 – The Indonesian Creative Economy Agency (Bekraf) signed a cooperation agreement (PKS) with Grab Indonesia to support the implementation of the World Conference on Creative Economy (WCCE).

“WCCE is not just an ordinary international conference but an initiative from Indonesia to be a leader in the development of the global creative economy (ekraf) that is expected to encourage national economic growth,” said the Vice-Chairman of Bekraf, Ricky Joseph Pesik in Bekraf’s Meeting Room located on the 18th floor in BUMN Building, Tuesday (10/30).

He hopes that this cooperation will continue to advance the country’s economy and provide greater benefits to the community. Director of PT Indonesian Transportation Solutions (Grab Indonesia), Ridzki D. Kramadibrata, said that this application-based transportation company is committed to supporting the development of the economy. Therefore, it wants to be directly involved in the implementation of WCCE.

“The external contribution to Indonesia’s GDP (Gross Domestic Product) reaches more than Rp 1,000 trillion and cannot be underestimated. This sector will continue to grow and make a significant contribution to the economy, especially with the presence of Bekraf, “he added.

President Joko Widodo is scheduled to open the WCCE. The event which will be held at Bali Nusa Dua Convention Center (BNDCC) on November 6-8 2018 will be attended by representatives from 52 countries and more than 1,000 participants who are representatives of the government, creative economic players, academics, think thanks and international organization.

Carrying the theme Inclusively Creative, there are five main issues that will be discussed, including social cohesion, regulation, marketing, ecosystems, and financing. The result of this conference will be the Bali Declaration which will be presented at the UN General Assembly next year. (Asiska/Fiyona)
