Bali, 5/11/2018 — A total of 12 pods or capsules with names of island in Indonesia enliven the Creativillage in the 2018 World Conference on Creative Economy (WCCE). Pods with names of the island introduce and campaign the slogan ‘17,000 Islands of Imagination’. Indonesia as the largest archipelago country holds a huge creative economic potential that is abundant with a diverse culture from the respective regions.
“The 17,000 islands show that Indonesia has great potential in imagination to create creativity. Many ideas will emerge from various islands that will not run out, “said the Director of International Inter-Agency Relations, K. Candra Negara, Tuesday (6/11).
The capsules are filled with various programs that have been implemented by Bekraf, including Hello Dangdut, Kreatifood, Akatara, Docs by The Sea, Archipelageek, Bekraf Developer Day, Bekraf Game Prime, Innovative and Creative Through Archipelago Collaboration (IKKON), and others. These programs shows Indonesia’s effort to support the development of the archipelago’s creative economic ecosystem.
The World Conference on Creative Economy (WCCE) is the world’s first creative economy conference. The event which was held at the Bali Nusa Dua Convention Center (BNDCC) on November 6-8 brings the theme Inclusively Creative by raising five main issues, namely social cohesion, regulation, marketing, ecosystems, and financing of the creative industry. The event was attended by representatives from more than 30 countries and more than 1,500 participants. The WCCE will also formulate the Bali Declaration which will be proposed to the UN General Assembly next year. This is expected to further strengthen the ecosystem and support the development of the world’s creative economy acknowledging that the world has entered a new era. (Asiska/Betha/Penni)
