Nusa Dua, Bali – The Government has drafted a Presidential Regulation (Perpres) regarding the Master Plan for Creative Economy Development. It was intended to create a conducive creative economic climate so as to encourage the development of a creative economy in Indonesia. “Creative Economy is the backbone of the nation’s economy that contributes to advancing Indonesia’s economy that is sustainable and environmentally sound,” said Expert Staff of the Minister of Maritime Affairs, Sugeng Susanto, in the Socialization of the Presidential Regulation Draft (Perpres) regarding the Master Plan for Creative Economy Development, in Nusa Dua, Bali , Thursday,
November 8, 2018. Sugeng, who was involved in the Interagency Committee in drafting of the Perpres, hoped that the Perpres could be a guideline for the central and regional governments in developing creativity and innovation based on science, technology and cultural heritage. According to him, the process of drafting the Perpres involves Penta Helix stakeholders namely academics, the business sector, the community, the government and the media. The Indonesian Agency for Creative Economy (Bekraf) has the opportunity to socialize the Presidential Regulation draft on the Creative Economy Development Plan in the World Conference on Creative Economy (WCCE) at the Bali Nusa Dua Convention Center, Nusa Dua, 6 – 8 November 2018.
The World Conference on Creative Economy (WCCE) is the first international-level conference on creative economy initiated by Indonesia. The event held on the 6-8 November 2018 at the Bali Nusa Dua Convention Center (BNDCC) is attended by representatives from over 30 countries and more than 1,400 participants. It brings the theme Inclusively Creative by raising five main issues, namely social cohesion, regulation, marketing, ecosystems, and financing of the creative industry. The outcome of WCCE will also formulate the Bali Agenda which will be proposed to the UN General Assembly next year. This is expected to further strengthen the ecosystem and support the development of the world’s creative economy, acknowledging that the world has entered a new era.(ARD)

Through the BISMA program, creative economic players can be included in the network of Bekraf’s and receive updated information regarding information and agendas in the creative world of Indonesia. “So we know what Bekraf is doing, what they do,” Dandy said.

Wishnutama is a television producer who is increasingly known to the public after Asian Games 2018 that held in mid-August. Wishnutama is responsible for the success of the opening ceremony of Asian Games 2018. Wishnutama studied at Mount Ida College Boston, USA, and the Science of television he got from Emerson College, Boston. The boss of NET Mediatama has also been educated at The Military College of Vermont, Norwich University.
Wishnutama’s experience in the World of television he got since a long ego. Since 1994, his work in the tv world is still active till today. In 1994-2001, Wishnutama worked as an On Air Promo Supervisor in the Programming Department, Indosiar (Emtek Group).
A year later, he moved his role as a Production Assistant and continued to spread his wings as a News Executive Producer and Production Division. In 1999, he then became a Production Manager. In 2001, he decided to move to Trans TV as a Vice President of Production and in just two years, his career rose and he became an Operational Director. Afterwards, it only took a year until he was promoted as a Managing Director. In 2006, he was appointed as a President Director (CEO) at TV7 (which later on changed its name to Trans7). Two years later, he became a President Director (CEO) at Trans7 and Trans TV until he finally decided to quit in 2012. During his leading at Trans Corp (Trans7 and Trans TV), he had been managed to produce several programs such as Extravaganza, Dunia Lain, Termehek-Mehek, Opera Van Java, On The Spot, and Indonesia Mencari Bakat.
After he quit from Trans Corp, Wishnutama and Agus Lasmono have come to a decision to establish a brand new television station in Indonesia by creating a concept differed from other TV stations. They have a main vision to provide audience the programs that hold onto the creativity, inspiring, informative, and entertaining. A year later on May 2013, NET. is officially aired across Nations.

The number of internet users in Indonesia has grown significantly in recent years, more than half of Indonesia’s population are internet users. This trend factors in rapid growth of digitalization in various sectors in Indonesia, which in turn has brought another trend, namely the rapid growth of the digital industry in recent years.
One indication is the presence of four digital Unicorn in the country, the most in Southeast Asia. In fact, there is in total only seven unicorns in Southeast Asia, including four from Indonesia, namely Gojek, Tokopedia, Traveloka, and Bukalapak.
The Indonesian government shows commitment to continue and push the positive growth of the national digital industry. President Joko Widodo emphasizes the vision to make Indonesia as The Digital Energy of Asia.
In addition to the government, other stakeholders take on the initiative to support the development of startups in Indonesia, various programs were held by state-owned companies, national private companies and multinational companies, universities, to associations and communities.
However, the missing piece needed to complete these various initiatives is the existence of comprehensive data on the current distribution and conditions of startups in Indonesia, which will help various stakeholders in determining policies and programs optimally and achieve synergy with other initiatives. For this reason, the Indonesian Agency for Creative Economy (BEKRAF) in collaboration with MIKTI (Indonesian Creative Information and Communication Technology Society) and Indonesian Technologists, launched the 2018 Startup Indonesia Database with regards to Indonesia as the host of the World Conference on Creative Economy in Nusa Dua Bali on Tuesday, November 6 2018 . “We found the fact that there is no valid reference regarding startup data in Indonesia, therefore MIKTI took the initiative to carry out data collection and verification. We hope that the existence of this database can be the initial reference for all stakeholders for startup development,” said MIKTI Chairman Joddy Hernady.
In this report, startups are defined as companies in the digital industry that already have a business entity or have digital products that have been released to the market. The digital industry sector in question includes e-Commerce, financial technology, game development, and digital application development in various sectors. Data Collection is done by compiling a lists of institutions declared as startups from various sources. Furthermore, re-verification of all data is done through direct access to the site and the official application of each startup, direct contact to the startup, and inputs from startup communities in various cities. “BEKRAF appreciates the initiative to publish this 2018 Startup Indonesia Database, which will certainly help us in the formulation of policies and programs that can strengthen the ecosystem of the national creative industry, especially the digital creative industry,” said Deputy Chairman of Infrastructure of BEKRAF, Hari Sungkari Santosa. As a continuation of the 2018 Startup Indonesia Database, a survey of Indonesian startups is currently being carried out, which will be released as a Startup Mapping to complement the 2018 Startup Indonesia Database. It will provide further reliable information about startup conditions, startup founder demographics, startup expectations of support from various stakeholders.

Bogor, 10/28/2018 – The Youth Oath Commemoration (Sumpah Pemuda), remembered every October 28, 2018 throughout Indonesia was also held at the Bogor Botanical Gardens Palace. This year, the Indonesian Agency for Creative Economy (Bekraf) supports the event which was also attended by the Indonesian President Joko Widodo.
The Chairman of Bekraf, Triawan Munaf accompanied the President who had just returned from a work visit in East Java and immediately left for the Bogor Botanical Gardens Palace. The 90th anniversary of the Youth Oath Commemoration with the theme ‘Differences is Strength’ was attended by invitees consisting of artists, influencers, and prominent public figures.
Even though Bogor was covered in rain that afternoon, the President continued to spend time eating dinner at the Grand Garden Restaurant in the middle of the Palace Gardens. Also present were Minister of State Secretary, Pratikno; Governor of West Java, Ridwan Kamil; Coordinator of President’s Special Staff Teten Masduki; and Bogor Mayor Bima Arya.
Asides from Sumpah Pemuda, in this event the Chairman of Bekraf also invited artists and public figures to support the Bekraf’s initiative to host the first ever World Conference on Creative Economy (WCCE) which will be held on 6-8 November 2018 in Bali.
