In this report, startups are defined as companies in the digital industry that already have a business entity or have digital products that have been released to the market. The digital industry sector in question includes e-Commerce, financial technology, game development, and digital application development in various sectors. Data Collection is done by compiling a lists of institutions declared as startups from various sources. Furthermore, re-verification of all data is done through direct access to the site and the official application of each startup, direct contact to the startup, and inputs from startup communities in various cities. “BEKRAF appreciates the initiative to publish this 2018 Startup Indonesia Database, which will certainly help us in the formulation of policies and programs that can strengthen the ecosystem of the national creative industry, especially the digital creative industry,” said Deputy Chairman of Infrastructure of BEKRAF, Hari Sungkari Santosa. As a continuation of the 2018 Startup Indonesia Database, a survey of Indonesian startups is currently being carried out, which will be released as a Startup Mapping to complement the 2018 Startup Indonesia Database.
