Ubud, 10/25/2018 – A number of preparations continue to be made by the Indonesian Agency for Creative Economy (Bekraf) ahead of the 2019 London Book Fair. Presented by the opportunity for Indonesia as the first Southeast Asian country to become Market Focus Country organized by Bekraf and supported by the Ministry of Education and Culture initiated the formulation of the National Preparation of the 2019 Focus Country London Book Fair Market Committee.
“Carrying the theme” 17,000 Islands of Imaginations “with the hashtag #ImagineNation, various interesting programs have been prepared,” said Daily Chair of the National Committee for Market Preparation, Focus Country London Book Fair 2019 Laura Prinsloo. The National Committee collaborates with British Council, which has been a partner of the London Book Fair for 12 years to assist each country as a country focus market in preparing cultural programs.
Along with the 2018 Ubud Writer & Reader Festival held on October 24-28 2018, the National Committee announced 12 Indonesian Writers selected from the results of the selection with the British Council. In addition to these 12 authors, the National Committee will still select other authors to be involved in various programs at the 2019 London Book Fair.
In addition, in the near future from 6-8 November 2018, the National Committee will also be involved in Creativillage at the world’s first World Conference for Creative Economy (WCCE) in Nusa Dua, Bali.
The World Conference on Creative Economy (WCCE) is the first international conference to discuss the creative economy. The event which will be for three days, with five main issues to be discussed, including social cohesion, regulation, marketing, and ecosystems and the financing of creative industries.
The event will also result in the Bali Declaration which will be proposed to the UN General Assembly next year. This is expected to further strengthen the ecosystem and support the development of the world’s creative economy, considering that currently it has entered a new era.
