20 World Famous Leaders Participate at the World Conference for Creative Economy

Jakarta, 2/11/2018 — A total of 20 prominent figures from the creative industries, government representatives, and international organizations will be speakers at the World Conference on Creative Economy (WCCE) held at Bali Nusa Dua Convention Center (BNDCC) at 6-8 November, 2018.

Numerous names such as Emmy Awards Best Director Winner, Lisa Russell; Elevation Barn CEO, Will Travis; CEO and Founder of Bolanle Austen-Peter Production, Austen-Peter Bolanle; President of China Film Group Corporation, Le Kexi; CEO and Moonton Co-Founder (Mobile Legends), Justin Yuan; Minister of Finance, Sri Mulyani; Minister of Communication and Information, Rudiantara; Co-founder and CEO of Net Mediatama Television, Wishnutama Kusubandio; and others will speak at the first international conference to discuss the creative economy (ekraf).

“This conference will be attended by more than 50 countries with over 1,000 participants. The enthusiasm for this conference is very high, this can be seen from the number of participants who registered to be able to participate in the event which reached more than 2,000 people and will be selected, “said Director of Foreign Inter-Agency Relations Creative Economy Agency (Bekraf), K. Candra Negara, during the Press Briefing in the Palapa Room at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Friday (11/2).

Even so, creative players and the public are free to visit side events, Creativillage which is open to the public. Creativillage is held for three days which will present capsules of the world’s creative industries, such as Disney, Tick Tock, Potato Head, Weaving Sikka, London Book Fair, KOCCA, and others. Also presented are various excellent programs of Bekraf which are carried out as an effort to strengthen the national eco-ecosystem.

At the event, a coffee lounge will be provided which serves Nusantara coffee which can be enjoyed free of charge. There are also various creative sessions with workshops and talkshows that can also be followed free of charge.

The woman who received the title as ‘The Most Powerful Women’ in the Forbes 23rd version was no stranger to the eyes of the Indonesian citizen. In the first and second period of the leadership era of Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, the woman whose full name is Sri Mulyani Indrawati was appointed as Minister of Finance. Until 2010, she was appointed as Managing Director  of the World Bank.

In 2016, in the era of President Joko Widodo, she was called back to Indonesia to re-hold the position of Minister of Finance. Many achievements were made during her tenure, in 2017 she was named the ‘Best Finance Minister’ in Asia Finance Asia version, in February, she was again named the ‘Best Minister’ in the World Award at the World Government Summit in Dubai, United Arab Emirates .

The World Conference on Creative Economy (WCCE) is the first international conference to discuss the creative economy. In the three-day event, there will be five main issues to be discussed, including social cohesion, regulation, marketing, and ecosystems and creative industry financing. The event discussed the Bali Declaration which will be proposed to the UN General Assembly next year. This is expected to further strengthen the ecosystem and support the development of the world’s creative economy, considering that the world has entered a new era. (Zulfikar/Fiyona)
